Also....reminders about camp:

Camp

Our camp is March 17-20 at Marahau.

We are looking for tents (2-3 person) and bedrolls! If you have any that you don't mind ALL classes to use, please send them in to Room 6 (Clearly labelled!). We will take very good care of them.

Torch (with fresh batteries) ‘
1 pair of gym shoes or sandals ‘

This list has recently been updated to include:
- A bedroll (if you have one already- we'll have plenty to share or you can buy them cheap at the Warehouse).
- Light but durable plate, bowl, mug and cutlery for our campout at Anchorage. Again, if this is an issue just let us know and we will find some extra.

LABEL EVERYTHING!!!! :)

Please provide a small container of biscuits, pretzels, rice crackers, or similar to share for supper, morning and afternoon teas. This must be in a throw away container with ingredients listed on top. No Nuts Please!!

The above list is the basic requirements. Clothing should be warm and adequate. As many activities will be outdoors, ‘best’ clothing is not desirable. Serviceable footwear is imperative. All gear is to be clearly named and packed in a kitbag, pack or small suitcase which should be labelled.

NO RADIOS, CELL PHONES, MONEY, KNIVES, I PODS, OR ELECTRONIC GAMES ARE PERMITTED.

No sweets, packets of chips or fizzy drink.

Our Camp Tramp

How long will it take us to get from Marahau to Anchorage?

Click here for a better image

Use the map to help you find out:

1. How far (in kilometres) our tramp from Marahau to Anchorage will be.

2.  How long do you think this tramp will take you? Use maths and show your work clearly.

Consider: What will you need to know to solve this problem? Will you have to convert any units of measurements? How many metres are in a kilometre?

3. Comment on this post and ask a clarifying question, answer a question, or share your strategy for solving this problem.
